Wadebridge Primary is a great place to learn. We are one of the largest primary schools in Cornwall with 16 classes of children organised in a two form entry school from Nursery through to Year 6. Visitors to our school comment positively on our size and space, our facilities and the stimulating and bright environment. They describe our atmosphere as warm, caring and respectful. We were delighted in June 2017, when Ofsted confirmed we are a ‘GOOD’ school that ‘continues to improve’.
We are a happy school. Our motto is ‘Learn, Thrive, Excel.’ We teach our children to aim high and develop their individual skills and talents in order to achieve their potential and progress confidently into the next phase of their education. Working in partnership with children and parents, we strive to develop lively and enquiring minds that acquire knowledge and skills relevant to our children’s needs, now and in the future.
All of our staff work tirelessly to provide a varied and engaging curriculum and a positive school experience. You’ll find our classrooms to be hives of activity, full of learning and creativity making Wadebridge Primary a special place for our children.
We are a well resourced school. All classes have access to an additional work space for creative arts and technology. We also have a huge school hall and stage area. At the back of this is our on-site kitchen where all our meals are cooked. We have a Library, ICT suite, over 200 iPads, a well-equipped cookery room and not to mention our fabulous outside learning areas which include a fire pit, a multi-purpose track and a polytunnel.
We offer wrap around care with our on-site club ‘Bridge Kids.’ Here children are able to join our breakfast and after school facilities from 7.30am-6pm.
‘Friends of Wadebridge Primary’ are a well organised group of parents, grandparents and friends who help to organise additional community activities which raise money to provide some of the ‘extras’ our children enjoy including end of term treats, theatre visits, additional school trips and additional resources to use at playtimes.
We have a committed group of school governors who meet regularly and play an active role in school life, supporting me and the staff with a varied remit of activities.
We do our very best to deliver a high quality, interesting and challenging curriculum to enable our pupils to make rapid progress. Importantly, our children enjoy their time here, and when the time comes for them to leave for the Secondary School, they leave with a wealth of happy memories to draw on!
