Homework Policy

Our Home Learning Policy has been informed by the consultation process that took place during the latter part of 2025-2026. Please find a copy attached below.

The consultation outcomes highlighted the importance of family time, extracurricular activities and pupil wellbeing, balanced with opportunities to support and extend pupils’ learning. For these reasons, Home Learning is optional and will not be assessed by teachers.

At Wadebridge Primary Academy, optional Home Learning consists of two strands:

1) Recommended Home Learning: Activities to support and consolidate children’s learning of the essentials, e.g. reading.

2) Suggested Home Learning Grid: Additional optional activities linked to termly learning at school, wider enrichment and character development, recognising and supporting many of the activities that take place outside of school.
