Latest News

Dear Parents and Carers.

We just wanted to write to you to inform you of the Covid-19 reporting procedure over Christmas.

For the first 6 days after the end of school, if a pupil or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, having developed symptoms WITHIN 48 HOURS of being in school (this takes you to Sunday 20th Lunchtime), please email: secretary@wadebridgeprimary.co.uk. We will then assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in school.

Where a pupil (or staff member) tests positive for COVID-19, having developed symptoms MORE THAN 48 HOURS since being in school, the school should NOT be contacted (until the first day of the new term). Parents and carers should instead follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

School staff are not asked to remain on-call or conduct any contact tracing more than 6 days after the final day of teaching.

We really do hope that this information will be not be needed, however we wanted to inform you of the procedure, should the situation occur.

Kindest regards and stay safe!

Ms Whitlock

Our very own England Mascot!!

One of our pupils was chosen to be a mascot for the England v Ireland Six Nations match at Twickenham.
He and his family thoroughly enjoyed the day and he was a lucky mascot as the final score was England 24 Ireland 12.

Well done, we are all very proud of you!!

A huge Thank you to everyone who has collected crisp packets for our recycling scheme with Teracycle. The latest delivery (our 3rd so far!) is headed to Wadebridge Fire station to help raise funds. We still collecting so if you have any used crisp packets, please bring them into the main school office where we have a collection point. Thank you to our Year 6 pupils for all of their help with the project.

29th November 2019

I am incredibly excited and honoured to be starting as Headteacher of Wadebridge Primary Academy in January. I started teaching 14 years ago and rose through the ranks, becoming the Headteacher of a Small School in Wokingham in 2012. I moved from there to a very large Primary School in Slough, and from there to a large school in East London. However, the pull to come home to Cornwall was very strong indeed and I was delighted when the opportunity to relocate my family arose over the Summer.  I grew up in Penzance and have always loved living by the sea and near to cliffs. I am a keen sports person (though a truly terrible surfer), an active musician and a singer and will be definitely carrying on the good work that Mrs Stoate has started with the choir. I am looking forward to meeting you all in January and to working closely with the wonderful Wadebridge Pupils, you and the Staff in 2020. In the meantime, I wish you an exciting and festive end to the term.

Ms R Whitlock.

Please remember that after school clubs have now finished for the term, we will have a new club list in the New Year.

There are a number of bikes left in the bike shed, some have been there for sometime. If your bike is here, please arrange to take it home before the end of term as we can not provide long term storage.

Our staff are on duty during morning drop off to assist children into school. Please remember to use the stop and drop area only for it's intended use and do not leave your vehicle unattended.

A HUGE Congratulations to the girls football team who are now County Champions after winning the Cornwall finals at Penryn. They will now represent Cornwall at the regional finals in Bristol next year.

Well done to the team and thanks to the staff and parent helper who made the day possible.

05/11/2019 Year 5 Fireworks

Year 5 hosted their Chinese firework night and despite the soggy weather, we had a fantastic turnout! Not only was there a beautiful firework display, but there was the opportunity to make Chinese lanterns, buy fortune cookies and enter the raffle; with a grand prize of setting off the firework display! Year 5 would like to say a special thank you to all the helpers that jumped in on the night, as well as the children who ran stalls and Chabba noodle bar. Thank you also to all the parents and wider community who supported the event and helped us raise money to use for our next exciting topic!
