19/01/2026	Year 2 Rock Stars We are excited to announce that Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) will be available for all Year 2 pupils to access after Christmas. To celebrate the launch of this exciting next step in your child’s maths journey, we will be holding a Rock Star themed day on Monday 19th January. We ask that children come to school dressed as a Rock Star (from any era!). The day will consist of teaching the children how to access TTRS and how to navigate the platform to enable them to strong foundations to prepare them for securing the multiplication facts needed as they move up through the school. After the event, there will be a parent information document made available so that you can support your child in their learning at home. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning. It is kitted out as a mobile classroom, with interactive and hands-on learning resources, designed to teach students about where their food comes from, highlighting the ‘Field-to-fork’ trail and linking with areas of the national curriculum. 23/01/2026	Reception trip tp Eden Project After Christmas, we will be learning all about winter. As part of our enquiry topic, we are planning to take the Reception children to the Eden Project to have a play session on the ice rink. We are very excited to visit the ice rink as it fits in perfectly with our winter topic covering ice, snow and all things winter. The children will be able to play with the equipment on the ice during our session, including sledges, pull along toys and much more! Date: Friday 23rd January 2026 Time: We will be leaving school at 09:00 and will be returning to school before the usual collection time of 15:10. Clothes: Children need to wear school uniform and will need to bring a waterproof coat, a warm hat and gloves. Lunch: A packed lunch including a ham or cheese wrap/sandwich can be provided for your child or you are welcome to provide them with their own packed lunch. Please indicate whether they will require a packed lunch to be provided by the school kitchen. Please also ensure all children have a drinks bottle. Bag: Children will need to carry their belongings with them so please provide them with a rucksack that will be comfortable. Cost: We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £13 payable via ParentPay to cover transport and entry costs. If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium Funding, we can subsidise the trip by 50%. We are aware that this is an expensive time of the year. Therefore, payment will be set up on the system with a reducing balance, meaning you can pay different amounts as and when you can. We do ask that the total balance is paid by Monday 12th January 2026. Unfortunately, should we not receive enough funds for the trip, we may have to cancel.
